Candle Care

Aglow soy candles are made to burn long and steady, but there are a few things to keep in mind in order to ensure a safe and long lasting burn. Please see below:

Prevent candle fires. Never leave a candle burning unattended, never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire, and keep candles out of the way of children and pets.

Trim your wick. We recommend keeping your wick about 1/4 inch long. If it gets longer, simply snip it with a wick trimmer or a scissors. Why do this? Because wicks that are left long or crooked can cause uneven burning, flaring and sooting. You will prolong the life of your candle by trimming every few hours of burn time.

Limit your burn sessions to 3-4 hours. Burning a candle for too long will cause carbon to collect on the wick, leading it to “mushroom,” which might create an abnormally large flame. We recommend you not burn for longer than four hours and cool for at least two hours before relighting.

Ensure an even burn by letting your first burn last for 2-3 hours or until the wax pool reaches the edges of the container. This will prevent the candle from “tunneling,” or burning unevenly.

Store your candles in a cool, dark, dry place with the lid on to keep them clean of dust and debris. By keeping the lid on between burns, you’ll ensure the fragrance stays strong for the life of the candle.
